GODI is an automated package management/build tool for Ocaml. It is based on source packages and builds packages and dependencies on request.
If your operating system lacks a reasonable packaging system then you can use GODI to install OCaml and OCaml packages.
- To use GODI with the CVS version of Ocaml, go into godi_console and change the CVS option of package godi-ocaml-src to yes; the default CVS version is HEAD. (Thanks to Alain)
You then need to recompile the godi-ocaml package. This will trigger recompilation of the other packages.
- While GODI works, it sometimes becomes unresponsive - do not panic and be patient.
- Note that many Godi packages (including Tcl and Dbm) do not compile when using CVS HEAD. You'll have to disable them.
